Abacus is an instrument that consists of beads that are slid across a series of rods set in a frame to perform arithmetic calculations. It is also known as world’s first calculator. The popularity of Abacus can be attributed to the fact that it makes arithmetic operations like Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division very easy and leads to the development of exceptional computational skills in learners.

Hello everyone! My name is Ridhi Maskara and I belong to the Pink city, Jaipur in Rajasthan. I am a Teacher by profession. My mantra in life is all about going beyond the pages of a textbook and explore the endless possibilities of solving any problem. I teach Abacus, Vedic Math and Mathematics. I have always loved Math and I want Learners to let go of the assumption that Math is a difficult subject. Actually, it is the easiest if the concepts are clear from the root. I enjoy interacting with my students and I always try to devise new Tips and Tricks to make the learning process easy for kids. I believe that Learning should never be monotonous. It should be Innovative and engaging for the Learners to make the most of it. I always encourage my students to focus more on their Critical-Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills. Every question has multiple answers and I help my students find the right answer, be it in their personal lives or in academics. I always put my best foot forward to make sure that every Learner is comfortable in class and I insist on having fun-filled informative sessions every time I take a class.
I have been teaching since 2016. During my journey as an Educator, I have acquired a lot of skills which help me understand the thought process of every Learner. It is recommended that the learner should be able to count till 100 before taking up the abacus course. Thus, the recommended age to start learning abacus is 5 years or older.

Calculator might make calculations easy for us but they do not contribute to the development of our brain and other skills that will help us in other disciplines of life as well. Apart from this, abacus is more effective as after mastering these levels, Learners become capable of Visualizing the abacus in their minds and performing calculations mentally without even using an abacus.
Not at all. Abacus is an independent discipline and learners from all Boards of Education are eligible to learn this subject.
